Current British law on ‘universal jurisdiction’ means that any member of the public can petition for an arrest warrant to be issued by a Magistrate. As was demonstrated in the case of Tzipi Livni, and most recently Dan Meridor, this loophole can be used to target visiting Israeli politicians and military.
In conjunction with the The Board Of Deputies, and the Fair Play Campaign, the ZCC is running a campaign to pressure MPs to demand that the government change the law.
