Keren Or (The Society of Jewish Artists) sells paintings to raise funds for the JNF.
Currently the sale of art via Keren Or's website will be used to build the first school in Haluzit.
Haluziot
Visit the desert sands of the Negev and you can see the future of Israel emerging. JNF is supporting a remarkable community of pioneers at Halutzit in the Northern Negev. They have seen their communities dismantled twice in the name of peace, first at Yamit in Sinai, and then at Atzmona, Gush Katif in the Gaza Strip. Now they are building again from nothing, for a third time. In plastic greenhouses they are growing top quality sweet peppers that you can find on the shelves of stores such as Marks & Spencer. They are reclaiming the desert sands metre by metre, miraculously growing carrots and new potatoes. It is an impressive achievement. The people of Halutzit are dedicating their lives to making the reclaiming of the Negev a reality.
The Negev comprises 60% of the land area of Israel, yet has only 7% of its population. As the centre of the country becomes increasingly over-crowded, transforming the Negev into a major population centre is vital to Israel's future. Your financial support is just as vital if their efforts are to succeed. Making a viable community means more than just homes and work, it also means schools if families are to live there.
We at JNF UK have agreed to raise funds to fit out a new school in Halutzit. At the moment, the children are educated in pre-fabricated huts, which are hot, cramped, and lacking in even basic educational equipment. The new school, which will make Halutzit far more attractive to families - indeed it is likely the community would rapidly double in size
One way to raise funds for the new school in Haluzit is to buy art from the link below.
