Antisemitic play Seven Jewish Children at the Octagon Theatre begins

Date:
21 October 2009

We bring to your attention that the antisemitic play Seven Jewish Children will run for three nights at the Octagon Theatre in Bolton from Thursday, October 22, 2009.

The Octagon Theatre Bolton’s web site states that "When premiered the play caused uproar. We would like to thank Bolton Palestine Solidarity Campaign for introducing the Octagon Theatre to this important and powerful piece of theatre". The play was written by Caryl Churchill, who is a member of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

Both David Berkley, the ZCC President, and Zionist Federation co-chairman Jonathan Hoffman consider the play to be antisemitic.

On October 24, The Octagon Theatre will also host a discussion with Richard Kyperot of Jews for Justice for Palestinians, Linda Clair, Chairman of the Manchester Palestine Solidarity Campaign, and Dr Brian Iddon, MP who is the Secretary to the Britain-Palestine All-Party Parliamentary Group.
